Trips & Visits

This section takes you on some of the trips and visits that I’ve been on in my search for information about my ancestors. The towns, villages and buildings they were born, lived and worked in; the churches they were baptised, married and buried outside; the hospitals, asylums, workhouses and prisons they were incarcerated in; the streets, paths and beaches they walked along; and the communities they lived in and supported.

I’ve had many such visits over the years, some alone, many with my wonderful family. My parents and siblings, my ever patient wife Rachel, and my dutiful children have all joined in at some point or another. You’ll find many photographs in the pages that follow, some of the houses we’ve stood outside, many of our ancestors graves we’ve discovered, some with selfie’s to show we were there, some unadorned with people as a genealogical record of the place.

I continue to add and update these pages as the journey continues.
