This section of the book takes a historical look at all the important villages, towns and cities our ancestors have links with. In the course of my research I’ve collated many old photographs and postcards, some original ones that I hold in my old family history chest, and some digital copies I’ve been given or found elsewhere on the internet, usually on social media. These have usually been shared without attribution and are believed to be free of copyright restrictions, hence I include them here. If anyone believes that they are a copyright owner for any of these images and would like me to remove them, please let me know by emailing iain@iainspence.com.
